FC Internationals 2009

Posted at 05:27 PM on July 07, 2009

LCS entered 3 divisions at Future Cheer Internationals in Brighton this year, Level 4 Cheer Division, Level 5 All Girl Group Stunt and Level 5 Partner Stunt.  LCS placed 2nd in Cheer Division, a result we were very happy with.  This was our first competition with  our new coach and in our new uniforms.  LCS Glamazons, the all girl stunt group, placed 3rd in their division and James and Nic placed 4th in the Partner Stunt division.

Additional to the excitement of the competition, long term members of City Stars, Rick and Jayme, are pleased to announce their engagement, after Rick proposed to Jayme at the Saturday prize giving in front of thousands of cheerleaders and spectators!

LCS Glamazons are National Champs

Congratulations to Clare, Emily, Sam, Shauna and Zoe.

All-girl stunt group the LCS Glamazons were crowned National Champions this weekend after taking home first place at the ICC British Open Cheer and Dance Championship.

The Glams defeated eight teams in their Senior Level 5 division, which included some of the strongest stunt groups from around the country. They wowed the US judges with three doubles, two level 5 inversions and a beautiful bow and arrow.

The Glams were especially proud of Zoe, who smiled her way through a painful wrist injury to give a flawless performance on the mat.

ICC Becomes LCA

Posted at 05:00 PM on February 07, 2009
City Stars was recently planning on attending the ICC Southern Competition in Milton Keynes, however the unprecedented snowfall throughout the UK resulted in this competition being cancelled.  As we didn't want all our hard work to go to waste, City Stars instead went along to the London Cheerleading Academy (LCA) which happened to be on the same day and we did our perforamce there, for those attending.  LCA were kind enough to provide a couple of senior staff members to act as "judges" and to give us some very constructive and useful feedback on our performance.  As well as learning loads, t also gave us a great opportunity to get some pictures in uniform, many of which can be seen in the Gallery pages.

LCS at Winter Wonderland

Posted at 01:26 PM on November 29, 2008

FC Winter Wonderland - 29th November 2008

FC Winter Wonderland was held at the Brentwood Centre this year and LCS entered a new division, Senior Open Co-ed Level 4, plus our two stunt groups LCS Glamazons and LCS Titans once again competed in their respective divisions at Level 5.  As it was the first competition of the new season, there were several new members, some of whom had never competed at a cheerleading competition before and LCS walked away with two 3rds and a 4th place trophy.  We had a good support crew in the crowd, so a big thanks to our sign holders, bag managers and to those taking photos, more of which can be seen in our Photo Gallery.

Future Cheer Flight School 2008

FC Flight School - 1st & 2nd November 2008

This year several members of London City Stars attended Flight School, which was again held at the Whitgift School in Croydon.  Both coaches and squad members attended and we had a good number of people to attend a wide variety of classes including more practical based ones, such as Co-ed Partner Stunting and Choreographing Jumps to more theoretical ones, such as "Working the Score Sheet".  All participants came away from the weekend feeling like they had learnt and achieved a lot and we would like to thank Future Cheer for putting on such a fantastic event.

Attendees from L - R are:  Jane, James, Clare, Rick, Nicole & Jayme

ICC Nations Best - 23rd August 2008

London City Stars may be on summer break at the moment, but theres been no rest for members of the LCS All Girl Stunt team, LCS Glamazons.  They have been working hard over the last few months for the ICC Nations Best competition held in Loughborough.  Glams went along to this comp, along with a small but enthusiastic group of supporters and showed us what all their hard work had paid off.  Here is their pyramid, more pics can be found in the photo gallery.
