LCA Expo

LCA/Acension Eagles Cheer Expo - 5th April 2008

Britains top cheerleading team, The Acension Eagles, in conjunction with the London Cheerleading Academy held a Cheer Expo at the ExCel Centre in London.  There were plenty of school teams present and lots of excited friends and family.  LCS went along as one of the demonstration teams and showed them our routine from Heart of England competition.  We got a lovely surprise at the end of the day when LCA presented our team with sports bags for all team members, as a thank you for coming along.  Hopefully some pictures will be up shortly.

Night Fever, Night Fever.....

Future Cheer Heart of England & Saturday Night Fever - 16/17th February 2008

This year Future Cheer Heart of England also included a special evening competition called Saturday Night Fever, for competitors over the age of 18 only.  We competed in both competitions with a Cheer Team and an All Girl Stunt Group.  We placed 3rd in both competitions for Cheer and the All Girl Stunt Group placed 2nd in both competitions.

Heres a pic of our Stunt Group struting their stuff....

Stunting in a Winter Wonderland

Future Cheer Winter Wonderland 2007 - 2nd December 2007

This year Winter Wonderland was held at the Brentford Fountain Leisure Centre and LCS took both a full cheer squad (23 people in total - a record number!) and our first ever All Girl Stunt Group, which consisted of Clare Winder, Emily Gray, Louise Healey, Sam Harlow and Zoe Burr.

Our placings were as follows:

Cheer Division - Senior Co-Ed Level 3 - 3rd Place

All Girl Senior Stunt Group - 4th Place (of 9 teams)

LCS goes to Flight School 2007

13th-14th October 2007

This weekend The London City Stars coaches Joey and Nicole and captains Jayme and Rick, as part of their ongoing training, attended Future Cheer Flight School 2007 at the Whitgift School in Croydon.

It was an action packed weekend with 2 full days of classes covering a wide range of topics such as how to motivate your cheerleaders, how to do effective basket tosses, ideas for transitions and choreography, how to utilise technology to advance your team and strength and conditioning training.  In addition to this was an 80's themed dinner and dance on the Saturday night meaning some hilarious costumes, crazy dancing and way too much fluorescent clothing for anyones tastes!  All four attendees agreed that they learnt a lot from the weekend and now have lots of new ideas to take back and use in training and in preparation for this seasons upcoming competitions.

We would all like to say a big Thank You to all the Future Cheer staff for all their hard work and congratulations on a fantastic weekend.  Roll on Flight School 2008!!
